BIG G
Stopped at a Diner after fishing last night for a cup of coffee.
Struck up a conversation with a lady who was a crossing guard saying how she needed two sets of raingear that day because they weren't keeping her dry. I said why don't you get some Helly Hansens they will keep you dry. She says, "Oh no we can only wear issued code 5 as they all have 5 reflective tapes in specific locations according to regulation." Com on, how many committes and taxpayer $$$ to come up with that regulation for a crossing guard. |
Just one... the person in the town government who has a cousin or brother-in-law that imports the poorly manufactured rain gear from China and sells it at a 100% markup.
|
Probably the Lawyer that represented the State after they got sued because some idiot got hit by a car and blamed it on the fact that they only had 3 reflective stripes on the rain gear.....morons on both sides...not just the government

We need tort reform across the board... not just in the medical field. |
Oh I agree...but Like I said....morons on both sides.

It probably leaks so much because she washed it so many times the water seeps easily through the outer fabric. That being said crossing guards are treated poorly within whatever department that oversees them. Most of the time they are under the school department because cops dont want to deal with the every morning I can't be at this crossing because of this or that. They have to fight the teachers for a bigger piece of the school budget, hence they get chit. I doubt they are issued that gear more than once every two years at best. I have stuff downcellar stored that I still use snowblowing that has never leaked. Either the above or she spent her clothing allowance on other chit and now doesn't have th money to buy appropriate gear.
