Too early for the Block Island run. They usually start around the end of the month.

Island Current leaving 5AM out of Snug Harbor.

HelenH after moving from Hyannis to Montauk today.

Celtic Quest, which is a great boat, just moved to Montauk Last week. From RI you have a choice of the Frances Fleet from Galilee or the Island Current from Snug Harbor.Edited to add that I just found out that the Seven Bs is also sailing for cod from Galilee.

Just started a gig this week, need to get ahead, then take some time

angler229 01-31-2012 08:13 PM

Friends went on Sunday said it was dogfish central, might want to hold off till the water gets colder to push out the dogs.

Sun is getting high(er) in the sky, water may not get much colder this year! It will be near 60d today.

striperman36 02-01-2012 09:38 AM

it may not be a good year for the Island Current. Viking fleet is going offshore and scoring big not sure where

No doubt store bought.
When was the last time you even held a fishing rod in your hands !

niko 02-01-2012 06:43 PM

the other option is walshs'. they have been doing well on pollock. but he is only 1 day a weekend, it's a marathon trip and is $150

MakoMike 02-01-2012 07:06 PM

The bite is starting to pick up, if the dogs are around you have to jig. Water may not get much colder this year, its 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
