Could the marines use religious beliefs as a scapgoat?
 

There are some unusual religions out there and I am trying to find one that the soldiers who urinated on the dead Taliban could use as a defense. The closest I have come is one religion where people drink urine.

They cut the heads off of our soldiers, but we piss on two of thier comrades and its a big deal. I'd break the neck of the a hole that posted the footage.

It is not what we as Americans are "supposed" to do and this instance - no matter how much certain people will call foul - is far more the exception than the rule.

What 99% of us here in this board don't have is the right to sit on some highground and crucify these guys. They should be disciplined fairly in however their superiors see fit - not as pawns in a political game to sacrifice someone.

This has happened for all time, and this really isn't bad compared to the other side, though they might get offended and we do have to assuage their sensibilities (yawn).

Once out guys start strapping bombs on 12 year old kids to send them blowing up schools for girls, we'll have a problem. Urinating on a dead guy that tries to kill you and your buds plus half the kids in the area? I'm not all worked up about it.

Guys used to have necklaces made from Japanese fingers a d teeth. Urine is nice treatment.

I've not seen anyone, even in the media do that.

Given though, that there appears to perhaps be a serious dialogue happening to broker a peace deal with the Taliban, a potentially disruptive event like this is certainly important.

Our government needs to eat crow here for political reasons. I'm sure the Marines will find a reasonable non-judicial punishment.

Posting it on facebook, tweeting, youtube, it's bad news.... This generation is #^&#^&#^&#^&ed with all this social media, my kids included. Why would you post something anywhere that would get your azz in trouble? To prove you're a badazz? I can't believe what the kids tweet and post. I can get into it through former job connections but it just validates why my son and I have been estranged for over a year....

As for the Marine incident...you gotta post it publicly? Really? Not condoning, but #^&#^&#^&#^&in stupid. Taliban have stated it will not affect the previously unreported peace talks. Just get the guys and girls home..........................
