Top fishing sites
I see the links to those top ranking sites up there. Gonna be hard to compete with WMI but it is good to know your site is out there where people can see it. It wasn't too long ago when a search for striped bass sites only showed a dozen or 2 dozen sites, now you can't even count them. anyway I like this site no matter where it is ranked.

I hit up 8 different sites a few times a day.
Striped-bass SOL WMI Noreast NJStriper Pier And Surf Stripersurf Soundfishing I checked out Reel-Time but I didn't like their board for some reason. I'll check back there in spring when things get interesting and see what they have to offer, perhaps it's just a winter time slump they are in now. Not to kiss rear but this one is my favorite of all of them so far. Relatively few people, all friendly. Disagreements but no real fights. No spam or trolls. Sorta layed back. |
Yeh, I put those up there to see what would happen, throw it up against the wall and see if it sticks sorta thing. I had them on the rest of the site since last weekend and decided to throw it up on the message boards today to see that impact. They average true unique hits from 3-5 days. One of them says to not put them on a message board but WMI is #3 on it and they are all message board... If it slows things down alot I'll probably trash it and run it once every month or two for grins and giggles ;P ... Thanks Slip for the good words ;D
Patrick, I hit some of those on occasion too but I do miss the OLD WMI board - thems was great times. When it hit the rough spots, several boards spun off and it never quite recovered. That was my first site I was truly addicted to... }> |
John, I don't think we'll ever have another board like the old WMI, in its heyday. A place where everyone felt free to say whatever the he** they wanted. The fights turned some people off, I guess. I still post there when there's something interesting, but it's sad to see. This site gets many, many more posts daily than ther surf fishing board on WMI.
Most people identify me with SOL, I guess, but me and the "Big Guy", aka "typo", the inimitable John M bounce around quite a bit, as does Saltheart. Someday Gerry will realize just what he had on that WMI board and kick himself for alienating people. I used to have it as my homepage, fer Pete's sake ;) And John--if your site edges up the list there, don't be surprised should you receive an e-mail from one of our long lost WMI foils. Need a hint---you too can sell SUPERCHARGED eels !!! I begged Tim to let me be the one who replied to him, LOL Oh, Pat--you would have absolutely LOVED reel-time 'bout this time last year. I could just picture the exchanges you and Bassturd would have had :-D |
Mike, that place was a lot of fun. Run into Doug lately??
I've got this idea. I'm thinking of marketing a system that would use OXYCLEAN(tm) forced into an eel that would then in turn.... And it you order in the next fifteen minutes, you get, not one, but TWO slingshot bait launching systems.... OK, getting tired and a little punchy here. Time to go to bed. |
John, on that saltwater fishing top 100 site I see it flashes that you are ranked 29, but if you go there you are ranked 7th and also 52nd so I think you should get them to remove the other one (52nd) must be old, because it looks like they are flashing the average of the 2.
just a thought, now I gotta go get breakfast and then off to Mike T's place. |
Thanks Slip...
