Bass Jigs
I know there are diffrent size for jigs and depending on what they are feeding on. Was thinking of getting a few jigs either 3.5oz or 7. Butterfly like jigs. what would be the better one to choose
|
There is no finite answer to your question. It depends on what the bass are feeding on.
I remember years ago there were a bunch of us that fished the mouth of Narrow River, morning, Noon and night. Some days a 3oz Smilin' Bill was the killer. Next morning it was 1/2oz bullet jigs fished on an egg. 2 days later it was a 1 1/2 Upperman red and white stripe. You just never know. Not only what they are feeding on but the tide stage, wind, current, moon, etc. If I am going out and am going to focus on jigs I bring an assortment of sizes, shapes and colors. |
Thanks Piemma, I was thinking of just picking up some butter fly jigs. 3-7 ounces just to have in the tackle box

Padawan you boat fishing? or surf fishing? because its 2 separate things. |
if you're in the boat, have both butterly and hammered diamonds from 3-10oz. that way you can jig bass/blues or be ready for tuna and cod also.

Primary will be off a boat. Ill have both in the box just incase..
