Coast Guard announces ban on Breakaway 1209's at the Cape Cod Canal.
 

The Coast Guard today banned the use of Breakaway 1209's with ABU 7000 reels spooled with 40 LB Ande. Citing "too many submarines being pulled off course by some guy with a Jimmy Buffit hair cut ", they have banned that rod and reel combo. Under his breath the Coast Guard Officer mumbled "next thing you know they'll be running stainless steel cable back to their truck winches. Yo Saltheart....the 1209 is alot of rod for up there.........I have no doubt it would haul a sub in, it can toss 10-12 ounce no problem <img src="/Images/Happy_Face.gif"><!--e1-->
