My mom is really sick
 

I am so sad right now. She has liver disease, and because of it a buildup of ammonia is causing her brain not to function correctly. She can't remember anything, has a hard time talking, and cant walk. I just got home from the hospital and can't stop crying, it is so hard watching her deteriorate like this, and I am helpless to do anything but feed her. She is only 61, people need to really take better care of themselves because this could happen to anyone of us. Hopefully the medication they have her on is going to get the toxins out of her system. She seemed to make a little progress in the couple of hours I was with her tonight.

Bill I am sorry to hear this. I hope the medications turns it around and your Mom can recover. Just stay positive and stay strong. Hoping for the best for your Mom Bill.

I hope she gets better soon Bill. Already said a prayer for both of you.

This is a good place when you need a shoulder to lean on, the experience of someone who has been through something similar, or a voice at the other end of the phone when you just need someone to talk to. Hang in there, Bill. You have my number.

Things went downhill overnight, my mom was unresponsive this morning. After an MRI and CT Scan came back clean the doctors are left scratching their heads. She can open her eyes and look around, but has not spoken to any of us, or moved her hands or body much. She was able to squeeze the doctors fingers once, and when they were checking her extremities to see if she could feel pain she said ouch once. So those are good signs, it's almost like her brain went into standby mode slowly the last couple of days, and my aunt who is an ICU nurse said she has seen this before, they usually pop back out of it, slowly though. The other good news is her toxins are now low, her respiratory is good and so are her vitals. She did not suffer a stroke which is also good. We are in a holding pattern, wait and see.
