tying knots on power pro
 

I have been fishing with 20lb test power pro and i lost a couple of nice fish i was using a clinche knot and didnt know i couldnt use it. I have looked it up and I would like anyones input if I should use a UNI knot or a Palomar knot which one is stronger

Those are to two knots I use the most for braid...
Like to use the Uni knot when I can..
But the Palomar is easier to tie in the dark when your donating lead to the Canal......:D

there is a pamphlet on what knots to use with power pro in the box the spool comes in. I prefer the albright with the line run thru the swivel twice.

Without a failer I have tried the palomar and trilene knots. On the trilene I double the bitter end then tie the knot - I always put a drop of Zap superglue on any braid knot. So far I like the P Pro. I lost a LARGE on that stealth crap:smash: Took a prototype X plug taboot.

I use Power Pro from 10 lb. on up and use only the uni knot (and the uni-to-uni to join two lines together), with six twists. Then again, I use unis in mono, attaching hooks and other terminal stuff, too. It's the best knot I've found and after forcing myself to use it a few years ago it soon became second nature to tie.

Couldn't get through the blues today guys. It's like they were stalking me!!!

Save yourself some agony.

Use a swivel with power pro.

Use Fireline.:D

Is the latest Fireline better than days of old. I tried the stuff a few+ years ago and had constant breaks when casting plugs$$$.

Never had a single one with either 20# or 30#. We're talking hundreds of fish and thousands of casts on each.

I did have one unexplained break on 14#.

I like the fact that it has just a little bit of memory so it lays better on many of the older design spinning reels--the Penn Z and SS, Daiwa BG, VS, and so on.

Haven't used it much on conventional.
