OK, I received the bad news yesterday, need rotator cuff repair,
Never have done this tuna trip before my question is this , should I still go on this trip ? , it's my left shoulder and tuff it out ... Or fix it asap for the fall run (Vineyard Oct , RI ) Peter |
Pete the one thing i can say is you may want to wait till winter for that surgery, 2 years ago i had my left arm ripped of, rotator cuff, labium, bicept, triceps and delt. I took a few pills and finished the season as it was a slow recovery for me and the physical therapy was painful. I may have had more damage i dont know, but the moral of the story is, if you want to enjoy the fall run and this trip dont get the surgery till after, you will thank yourself later.

med up for the rest of the season and get sliced in november. if you are worried about this trip you could always get a aftco shoulder style harness. it would take the pressure off your shoulder and transfer it to your torso
|
1. Fix it ASAP and absolutely ruin everything the surgery accomplished by doing too much too quickly ie. fall run.
Or. 2. Have it done over the winter with plenty of time to heal up/ pt it and as an added bonus you don't have to shovel snow. *disclaimer* I'm not a doctor. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
The doctor who does fish ,told me to keep all my plans and then go under the knife in the late fall .
I may just need to find a bitch to reel in my tuna and Misc fish I plan on catching ... I need a Chum Boy like back in the day :) |
Peter, if I didn't get so seasick, I'd be glad to reel in your tuna for you.
have fun guys, I'm jealous wish i could go |
I will check tomorrow and if any spots are still open me and cj will be going!

glad you and cj are coming chuck. we'll put out a couple of huge baits way out and wait for the tigers to show up :)
|
I am bringing the Penn80 and fighting belt, bring the wired shark hooks appropriate for a 1000+ lb shark! This year I am definitely in the fighting rotation!
Last yr 90min and 3 guys on a Penn50, the shark won handily! Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
The bait is yellowfin guts!

might as well just cut a yellowfin in half. buzz -whats your 80 spooled up with? straight mono
|
I will gladly donate some of the yellow fin i catch for some time in the belt.

I'll jump in on this :)
just me |
You should invite some girls from the GAFF magazine to go with you on a photo shoot in the canyons...and make it a real party. This way when it not your turn on the rod, you can at least be watching a pole dancer with a cold one.
