John after your stories on cutty about singing to fish, i decided to try it the other night, bite was steady but nothing great, so decided to start singing, first verse and got into a fish, starting laughing to myself.

a few more singless casts and no fish, then started where I left off and I hook up again. this went on for about 4 hours while the tide was dropping out. Steady mix of mostly stripers and blues.

It works!!

Thanks man, made for some funny stories on the 4th while hanging around with friends.

Best fight of the night was this 16lb bluefish that hit an all yellow ss darter, at first it made one long run, thought I had a nice fish on, then the head shakes started and knew it was a blue.

OK I'll ask, so what was the song you were singing? :buds:

That Bluefish loved that tune

was going from dio's holy diver to a mix of songs off metallica's and justice for all album.

John likes wussy stuff like dave matthews and nickelback, but i guess that works too.

I'd suggest "Mack the knife" whlie skishing.

Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.

Ya know when that shark bites, with his teeth, babe
Scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves, though, wears old MacHeath, babe
So there’s nevah, nevah a trace of red
.

Then again, maybe not.

I seem to recall something about your affinity of catching bass with eels being equal to being unable to getting laid in a brothel with a fistful of Franklins

Yes, sometimes even out loud :uhuh:

flyvice11787 07-05-2012 10:32 PM

Yeah, as if we don't look stupid enough with the waders, top, and whatever belt setup we have. Now we have to be singing out loud for Joe Public to hear???

Nice bluefish.

I do a lot of walking when I fish. This is a song that often comes to mind.

The Fox

The Fox went out on a chilly night,
Bayed at the moon to give him light,
For he'd many a mile to go that night,
Before he'd reach the town-o,
Town-o, town-o,
Many a mile to go that night,
Before he'd reach the town-o,

He ran 'til he came to a great big pen,
Where the ducks and the geese were kept therein,
"A couple of you will grease my chin,
Before I leave this town-o,
Town-o, town-o,
"A couple of you will grease my chin,
Before I leave this town-o,

When it's stormy out I'll sing" strippers in the storm" in the same tone as the doors" riders in the storm" I'll just make up my own lyrics. Been doing it years when iam alone.
