Skunk Family
 

I had a mother with 3 young'ns come walking along the stone wall in my back yard today. At first I thought it was some cat waddling along. Then I made out it was a skunk but thought it looked pretty ragged. Then I see clearly that its 4 animals , 3 small skunks and their mom. All that extra hair sticking up all over from what I thought was one skunk was the tails of the other 3.

They looked really healthy. I was glad they kept right on walking though. I do not want any resident skunks around!

I also saw a speckled bird that looked like it had a black butterfly pattern on its chest. Bird was about the size of a Robin. The black butterfly pattern was large and went all the way across its chest. I wonder what that was?
