North Shore Leg ideas/dates/ input thread
 

Thoughts on date, place appreciated... I'm not running it, just getting the thoughts rolling on it.

if it happens I will take one angler with me for the night....as long as there is nothing on my schedule already..

First come first served.. your in should it go down ( as you know you and Bruce are welcome any time)... if you take the ride...Bassin's been good.. real good.. last few nights we've been walkin' on blues... they out number bass 10:1.. rare for these waters... as it would go... I got the 10 boo-fish.. Night shift got the bass... so it was re-tie.. repeat.10.. boofish..1 bass.. re-tie- repeat... 6 hours worth...I hate boo - fish!

PI worked well didn't it? We should try that again....
although I haven't made it for a couple years...

That was the worst infestation or blues I've ever seen.

I have been able to get a parking lot for us to use... Just a little tricky to find. Waterfront in the Little Harbor shipyard section of Marblehead. My brother has a company in the building, which originally housed Hood Sailmakers. Googlearth 30 Doaks Lane, Marblehead 01945.

The pros of this would be less driving for many, closer to some other north shore locations, ie. Salem, Manchester, Magnolia to the north, Nahant to the south.

The cons are no trip to Surfland, not close to Joe's boat, not close to the currently closed Plum Island reserve

Just offering up an alternative, and trying to feel out if there is any real interest in this event this year......

I actually have only fished a few times in the NS and keep telling myself to join the club and fish there more, but the kids and the call of old favorites to the south keeping calling me. Depending on what night and whats going on I would really like to go. I am in for anything, please keep me in the loop.

Water temp dropped to 54 on the incoming tide Monday...thanks to the souwest wind.. peace and quiet rained supreme.... I'll keep ya in mind next time.. I have no issue sticking a gaff in their head...:devil2:

The weekend of the 18th is the big NEKF kayak fishing shootout in Salem. There will be kayakers everywhere in the salem and mhead area....
doesn't mean we can't do it then, just giving a head's up.

Crap, that shootout is Huge too.....

The 18th is my wifes B-day, That would be another mark on my already lengthy permanent record.

Yeah prob about 100 yakkers or so in total, but they will be spread out all over the north shore, so the popular surfcasting locals should be OK.

Not seeing much interest here..... Should we scrap it for this year and focus on another area Leg?

Tyler and I could be in for somewhere.

Even if its only a few folks, as long as fishing and or food is involved I still think its a great idea.

Found some significantly larger fish around very early today.... Someone make the call and take the lead on this. I don't care whether PI or here. People just need time to make plans in advance. Maybe some folks will want to fish Friday night or Sat dawn patrol before the get together

I am up for Fri and Sat. Seems like PI spot has always worked out fine and the 18th date will work for me. I think we have done the same date as the Yakkers in the past. Let's do a show of hands for the 18th at PI and see how things go. We can do the food list following a decent show of hands.

I'm on vacation that week have fun and catch um up
