I've actually eaten some of those barnacles in the "old country"....definitely as described, you're tasting a bite of the ocean...an acquired taste to say the least, like nothing I've ever tasted and I've definitely had my share of ocean-feed.....also as stated, VERY EXPENSIVE.

It kind of reminds me of Westportmafia scavenging for mussels and periwinkles at the canal, but it's more dangerous.
