Old but good
I was at the local library and came across the book Striped Bass Fishing by Frank Woolner and Henry Lyman I have seen other posts about the book, but never came across it. Even though it was written a while ago, it seems to be a classic talking about the history of striped bass, older tackle, bass stands, eels, rigging, tins, and plugs. I have read quite a few other striper books, and really enjoyed reading this one.

that is my favorite book on bass of all time.

It's a great book, picked it up a few years back, the pics are great.
Interesting to read about the times back then and how they handled fish and gaffed everything. Different times Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

great book. picked up a cheap used hard copy on amazon a few years back my fishing library.
|
I have two copies, the original 1954 edition and a much later second edition. They are both great, but the pictures in the first edition are way better.
|
Based on this thread I went on line and found a hardbound copy 1954 edition for $10 and ordered it. Hope I get what I hope I'm getting.:)
Meanwhile it's way cheaper that what Jerry Sylvester's book brings... |
I snagged Sylvester and 4 or 5 other old classics for $5 on Ebay. I loaned Sylvester out, thanks for reminding me I need to get it back.
