Eelskin/no shortage here

Shop near me still has eels and some big girls that I've been skinning. Got some custom jrs. and a needle from Don at Afterhours and rigged those.

Then had him make me two senior 3.5oz floating needles, have a few special places in the fall that these will slay at.

Here's a few pics from the other days skinning and rigging process.

Can't wait to fish em Don! Thanks again.

Great looking plugs. Good idea using the fast links on the tail

Are the chained TA clips to give more of a serpentine tail action? Kool!

chefchris401 08-25-2012 08:30 AM

Those are the big 175lb TA Clips I used those instead of a zip tie cause the action is better, adds a touch of weight and helps keep the tail straight and swinging on the retrieve

Surfcaster ingenuity with the clips. Nice work all around. I love everything about eelskin plugs.

Maybe a silly questions... do people skin their eels and then use the skinned eels as riggies?

I thought of it but the skin is the toughness. For dead bait they would be ok.
