3 Attachment(s)
The last two plug lots donated for charity are being auctioned off to benefit the Chuck Vietry (Crafty Angler) fundraiser being held on September 24th at Flo's in Middletown.
http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...it-crafty.html Lot 2 contains several of great plugs from local builders. All weights are approximate. Plugs are all new and un-fished. I kept this lot small as it has two giant plugs... The auction is for the plugs listed below: Builder: MAC Style: Pichney style slope head swimmer Colors: Black/blue/pink/white metallic Length: 8" Weight: ~4 ounces Notes: A few wrinkles in the finish on one side but an otherwise AMAZING plug Builder: Spence Style: Giant jointed swimmer Colors: Black w/oranganium dust Length: 11" Weight: ~ 5 ounces Notes: Hand painted flame details / huge / only one ever made! Builder: RIROCKHOUND Style: Flat nose swimmer Colors: Black/yellow Length: 4.75" Weight: ~1.75 ounces Notes: Nice tapered profile to throw big wake in a little plug Highest bidder as of 9pm Sunday, September 23rd will be declared the winner. Payment can be arranged online via PayPal personal payment and plugs shipped (+ additional shipping costs) or picked up at Flo's during the benefit on the 24th. In the event of a default the next highest bidder will be declared the victor. Feel free to ask any questions about the plugs in this thread. thanks, -spence http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...-dsc_0256s.jpg http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...-dsc_0265s.jpg http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...-dsc_0266s.jpg |

Don't see MACs come along much. Rockhounds - rare.
But a Spence? It is unlikely to have ever been fished they are that rare :rotf2: |

I believe this MAC to be SUPER rare. I remember wining one in a site auction some years ago that I sold and then he donated another exact duplicate for the charity display. I'd be curious if anyone knows how many he made. The jointed swimmer was a product of the Mur-Eel frenzy. I started out to copy the Mur-Eel but decided I wanted something bigger that was a bit over the top and would be a perfect match for a big glass rod like my 1213m. As it was a totally custom plug I had to design it from scratch which obviously required several test plugs and a lot of test swims to get the weighting perfect. Not having a lathe all my plugs were spun on a drill press which takes a lot more time. As a result I only made one finished plug, so I gave it a proper paint job. It's either AYC or Port Orford, can't remember. I probably have the plans around somewhere if anybody wants them. This plug wasn't in the original display, but I don't think I'll ever fish it so what the heck. The RIROCKHOUND was donated for the display but never made it as it was lost in the back of my buggy. When I found it years after I wasn't sure it was Bryan's. I mean, it was dark and moody like most of his plugs but the hole was on center and the lip cut straight??? :devil2: :hihi: Thanks for the generous opening big Phil, but I hope you didn't kill the thread :smash: -spence |

Not really but if it keeps the thread alive it could be? |
Humpday bump.

If anyone will outbid Phil on these I'll personally toss in another $25 bucks.

To make even more tempting, I'll throw in $25, too! I look at it this way, while being out a few nice plugs made by skilled craftsman , I'm saving $225. |
