I just found out my mother passed away unexpectedly. Support needed in this time.

Please, if anyone has gone through the loss of a loved one and can help guide me through the necessary steps any advice through pms would be appreciated. I'm heading to PA now and will reply when I get a chance.


Take time today to tell those in your family that you love them. Too often we take these things for granted, and you never know if the next time will be your last.

Sorry for your loss kevin... the day after finalizing a nasty divorce...My mother went in for a tripple by pass and never left the operating room.. My father passed away a year latter after a 7 year bout with cancer.. I know EXACTLY how you feel.. you have my number.. if you need to go fishing/talk when you get back.. call.

It is easier to face the world when you know there is someone out there who loves you no matter what. When your mother dies you lose that forever. I'm sorry.

Sorry for your loss, Kevin. Right now it's a time for grieving her, and being there for the rest of the family. Those are the necessary steps of the here and now. Everything else can wait.

Remember that everyone grieves in their own way.
Some don't show it, some do. The best thing to keep in mind are all your fond memories, things she did to make you laugh, all those happy times. They will help make you strong, and get you through this trying time. Coming from an Irish background, when a friend or relative passed away we would have what was called a "mourning party" where everyone got to share their life experiences that they had with the deceased with others, and help to keep those memories alive.

There's nothing like a good strong shoulder to lean on.....even if it isn't yours!

Kevin so sorry for your loss. When my Dad passed away......I honored him and the life he led by taking care of my Mom the best I could to see to her needs (not sure if your Dad is still with you) and by being strong for my family and seeing that he was laid to rest with honor and with love. I say this alot in times like this Kevin but keep the memories close to your heart....they will get you through it. Don't be afraid to laugh as folks reminisce about your Mom and the good times and do not be afraid to cry for the loss of your Mom. I am deeply sorry.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I too lost my mother rather suddenly, a little over a year ago. I keep pictures and things she'd given me over the years around, I think of her often, and mostly I keep living life in a manner she'd be happy and proud of.

Kevin - my sympathies , remember the good times.

T & P are sent from my family to yours. No matter how you look at it its not easy. Time heals but its tough to let time pass. When my dad passed I had some good friends step up to comfort me...it helps a lot. I stayed strong for my family but made myself sick holding it all in. Find a time and place to let it out, a good healthy release helps.
