Refurbing spikes on wading boots
The felt on my Simms G3 boots looks fine but the spikes have worn quite a bit. Has anyone used the Hard Bite Boot Studs as a replacement rather than applying a new sole? Any other good options?
Yes, I heard about the ban but it doesn't look like I need to throw them out just yet. thanks, -spence |
Home | Premium Studs For Wader Boots
Wearbars.com - Product List I've used both of these as well as the Simms. Orvis supposedly has good ones too. I've not tried them in felt. The wearbars are the best for bubbleweed, the gripstuds go well in soft soled rubber boots and shoes (like boot foot waders), the simms are nice on slippery rock without much weed. If your felt has worn down the Simms might be too long. They come in a long version for felt and a shorter version for vibram. |

DITTO!!! 3 years on one set and no visible wear

I must not be as graceful as the rest but my wearbars are showing quite a bit of wear after 2 seasons, and this can only be called about .25% of a season since i have been working so damn much. Still 1000% better than anything else on the market. They dont have the same bite as they once had. I have only lost 2 of them, if i was wearing korkers i would be down about 50.

I can screw these into my felt soles?

They hold best in felt soles!!! just use washers to help keep them upright.
