newport this weekend
wifey and i are spending a long weekend in newport. the original plan was obx via atlantic city but sandy changed that - and the backup plan of montauk. looking for ideas on things to do in southern rhode island and a good place to watch the pats game. feel like i dont know the area well and want to do some exploring. we got great restaurant suggestions here last year.

Take her togging and then to the Mews Tavern.

If the brick oven pizza joint is open its a must. It's just a little whole in the wall can't remember the name but its right on Thames on the water side. The vineyard tour is pretty cool and inexpensive. They make an insane ice wine

The mansions are always a cool thing to tour, especially if the weather sucks.
Fantastic umbrella factory is cool. The Mews is a good place for the game and great food. Salvation cafe in Newport is amazing. Empire tea house for some imported mochi balls and bubble tea. Sapos freaky burrito for Mexican Thames street is always a nice walk for shopping. The saltwater edge. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Have fun Paul |
Lots of good suggestions here. I agree with Sardella's as a nice spot for a meal. Very good food and I'm sure your wife will like it. If you're into the morning drinking thing, you need to try the bloody mary at Brick Alley Pub.
