Cost of living increases have been frozen for 2...going on 3 years now. That is what they are talking about.

Very true on that, I have some very committed people as friends working in US Park Service, NOAA and they're position is that they have been abused for the 3 years by executive branch

Then they are doing better than those of us who pay their salaries. During Obama's first term, median huosehold income dropped by $4300.

Here's what public servants don't grasp...their salary (with benefits) needs to be somewhat proportional to the amount of money we (the public you serve) have to give you. Today, we don't have the same to give you that we had 4 years ago, we have $4300 less (on average).

They shuold be thanking their lucky stars that they have the same salary (and fat benefits) they had a few years ago.

Boy, I need to talk to some of my clients. They keep telling me that I need to decrease prices because they don't have the budget... but they need to understand I have to get my "cost of living" increase.

Not to mention I need to somehow pay the 22% higher medical insurance costs and recover from a still underfunded IRA (since I don't have the luxury of a pension).
