Our way of helping Sandy's victims
Dani and I just went through closets and storage, pulling out two sleeping bags, four blankets/comforters, shirts, sweats, jeans, and a dozen jackets, parkas and raincoats. Our neighbor is headed down to NY tommorrow to check on family members and the donations will be distributed to those in need through their church.
Please consider going through your closets this weekend as well. Many local churches will have programs to get your donations to people who need them through the cold weather ahead. Feels good to be able to offer something that will be truly appreciated... It was all delivered to a Red Cross center in Merrick NY this morning |
We just did the same thing, 3 bags of clothes, jackets, shoes, etc.

Brought a bunch of stuff to Aubuchons they are running a load down from MA. Was hoping to head down Sunday but with 350 mile round trip in the van I am a little nervous about getting back out.

Don't forget to make donations to the Red Cross as well. They have been there since day one. Events like these tend to stress their finances a bit, and this will not be the last time they need to be "there" helping out.

I'll be going down next weekend, I'm hoping to visit Sgt Striper's area. Anyone in the Mansfield area down to Aquidneck that wants to send what is needed, let me know. I'll be pulling out of Mansfield about 7pm Friday
