Im done

Too windy, getting cold. Not worth sitting around waiting on a good day. Winterized the boat sunday and put it away for the season. Another season down, and now the wait until spring. This being my first full season with the boat we decked a buffet of fish from Bass, fluke, Sb, tog and albies. Only hit the surf once. Got spoiled. Hope eveyone had a good season. Until next year.

saw a blitz off of Prudence at lunchtime when I was down at the ramp.

yeah...had it hauled and delivered to the house. Started to winterize yesterday. Got the FW/head/shower/hotwater/seawater and AC systems done. Used 8 gals of antifreeze so far. Today I will start on the engine. It takes me a few days but I have my own way about doing things. It will be at least a week before I have it completely buttoned up.

When I ran the boat around to the boatyard yesterday I saw birds working as well in several spots in vineyard sound but could not see fish breaking. I pulled right into a pod and slowed down to see if I could ID them but saw nothing on the machine and no surface brakes but the birds were acting as if there were fish driving up bait. I believe now it was God just messing with me one last time this year cause he knew I didn't have a rod on board.

Hauled mine home Sunday.
Have to pull the motors and do rear main seals. They have been leaking and I can't ignore them any longer.

main seals.....ugh! That is a PIA. Good luck. Well while it they are out you can clean up the bilge and get a good look at everything inside and out.

It is amazing the stuff you find when you winterize the boat. I take all the crap off clean and store in inside. I found stuff I had been looking for all season!

Yes I take all the antennas off, remove the canvass sun canopy and pull out 6 bolts.
I use a block&tackle. with 2 guys it takes about a minute to fold it down. And just as easy going back up.

Here it is down ready to haul out.

Thinking of doing the same thing.

Raider Ronnie 11-29-2012 12:27 PM

New Coosa deck (5 1/2 inches higher, scuppers also) , a bit less pitch in the deck also.
Tuna door w/ramp & flip lid to walk thru.
Loosing 90% of my engine box.
Narrowed up wash rails from winterback to aft including the stern.
Below deck fish hold/ insulated livewell.
More wheelhouse seating for charters.
Nice comfy helm seat on a bulkhead mounted swing arm.
New Electradyne hauler.
More rod holders.
A few other things......

How much strength will you lose on the tuna door?

Raider Ronnie 11-29-2012 01:34 PM

None if you reinforce & gusset if correctly.
