Hey WoodyCT
How you coming along with the NJ fully sealed plug method??
I had a body that I messed up and decided to try it after reading your post. Kind of a PIA to fill in everything and hook cavities, belly weights, lip slot. Guess if you do a lot you get good at it. Ill post some pics of my "attempt" later on. |
Chris what are you using for hook hangers?

Tough to bend em and get the right length. I made mine so that they were really tight in the hook hole to stop em from moving while filling with epoxy. Again I'm sure if you did all sealed plugs you'd have jigs and better methods. But I just did this one. I don't think ill cover the tail wrap with filler, haven't decided yet. Haven't tackled them yet.
You using a syringe to pump in the goo? West Systems makes some with fairly long tips , and you can get them at decent hardware or marine supply places, like West Marine. What did you use for epoxy, 2 Ton? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
No woody I just stuffed the hole with two part marine epoxy by hand and a small dowel to make sure it was down all the way.
I messed up the rear hook hole and redrilled it and decided to make one sealed plug instead of junking the body. Looks cool, I'll try and get some pics up today. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
