Lowrance HDS7 or HDS elite

Upgrading my electronics. After some research ive narrowed down to these two. The HDS elite seem the samed as the 7 without the radar which I dont need anyway, and $300 cheaper. Also has a bigger screen. Still can do chart, sonar, bottom 3 in one view which I really like. Anyone familiar with these units?

BB - please consider units with down or side imaging. Its absolutley amazing. I shopped around, comparing lowrance to humminbird and wound up with humminbird. A bunch of places noted the ease of use and cost. In the end I went with Humminbird, I have this unit
958c HD DI Combo :: Humminbird Down Imaging GPS Combo

I thought down imaging was a gimmick, but I can see submerged trees, weeds, bait pods, fish, rocks, its incredible. I wish I had this technology fishing Narr. bay. please check it out!
