I'll try to organize some RI trips this year, Mike. I would bet a bunch of the MA guys wouldn't mind venturing down to our beautiful waters to join us as well.

Any ideas?

Cut off, huh? That's an interesting choice of omission.....:rotf2:

Clammer, I hope to fish with you this year, on more than one occasion. AND I hope you will attend both TFCTFN and Plugfest this year. Don't want to hear your old biddy excuses from past years.

And for what it's worth, Capesams ought to come outta his hole and show up, at least to Plugfest.... Maybe let a few of us know how he's doing as well.....

FishNH 01-23-2013 06:34 PM

I'd be in for a HH fluke trip, Spring time Seabass if season is open.

I have some spots left on a Cod / Haddock charter out of Hampton, NH Saturday May 4th if anyone's interested.

28 guys 100' boat $100 per spot.
Let me know if your interested.

tlapinski 01-24-2013 11:08 AM

What about a squid jigging trip on one of the Point Judith headboats in the spring? Clammer, we can have the first annual "S-B Snapper Bluefest" next summer for you. We catch 'em, you eat 'em!

niko 01-24-2013 11:45 AM

Squid trips a great idea

I used to be a MDC ranger back in the day at George's Island.

Fishermen go all the time out to Lovell's island for overnights. You can legally camp there. It's a short ferry ride from George's.

There are pigs in the channel between George's and Lovell's. I did very well from the rocks casting on the George's side. I used to clean up under the lights with bait when I was on duty.

Great place to drift, it's normally illuminated enough to not feel that you are not lost in the darkness on a boat.

Try this: Boston Harbor Islands Trip Planner | Lovells Island | Boston Harbor Islands

It has the link to reservations.

Lovells Island—the nearest island to sites of legendary shipwrecks—is now a favorite for campers, with six smaller campsites (max. capacity 6 each) and two group campsites (max. capacity 50 each). You could spend days relaxing on a remote beach and nights listening to the sounds of the harbor. You can also take a swim on the side that faces the vast blue ocean (unsupervised). Tour the crumbling gun batteries, bunkers, and foundations of Fort Standish. Put on your water shoes and wade along a rocky beach or explore tidepools with views of the outer islands and Boston Light. Picnic on the shore or inland. Hike the rocky coastline.
