no mention of their use as bait? So anglers arent even the main consumers of eels...

Raven 01-28-2013 04:42 PM

most of the over indulgence is when something is either considered a DELICACY
or an aphrodisiac... such as the pictures of many thousands of shark fins drying on top of roofs

That's cool. Someone on this site sent an eel video to my cell phone that was pretty cool too.

Not even close.

There were some nice fatties in there too, haven't been seeing those in the bait shops as often lately.

Do they have freshwater eels down there where you are, or are you too far north?

I highly recommend "consider the eel" if you want to learn a bit more about the lifespan and economics of eels.

They'll probably be very expensive at the market, but I bet you're right about them working on the lmb's down there.

How do they ship them? in those boxes? They must not fair too well.

thefishingfreak 01-30-2013 07:18 PM

I've seen them being packaged in Boston. Big sukkahs too.
Styrofoam box- heavy mil bag liner- certain weight of water & a couple ice packs

I did not see many meat eels in that video, they all were bait eels. Makes you think that the population might be in trouble.
