A blizzard is coming!!!
At least that is what the news is sorta saying. Fox is saying it could be measured in feet not inches. I wonder how bad the hysteria will be. Striperman36 whats the real scoop?

Put the chains on!

Figures!! I go skiing in New Hampshire and we get a storm. Not a whole lot of snow up here.

i remember back in the Old days that our town postman had to walk thru a tunnel we dug from the street to the house to deliver the mail.
sure we could have knocked the snow drift down but it was more fun to leave it in place. :grins: |
Hope I get home before this thing starts. I've been on the road since Sunday morning. ETA home Thursday night

Wide variation in forecasts right now. Some have the east bay gettin 12+ while NOAA is showing sleet and little snow. My gut says it should be a good one.

It better not be a "good one", my wife is flying home Friday afternoon after a week away, and I am already sick of my cooking.
|
I'd believe NOAA. The media tends to um.... Hype this kind of thing.

Hopefully it's a close enough pass to be mostly rain for us on the coast and then snow for the mountains.
Most of the population would be happy that way. |
It will be a bust. It is the media doing its thing in a snowless winter. We will watch it go out to sea.

The snow map they have shows everybody getting creamed. -spence |
It's gonna do what it's gonna do, and there ain't a bleeping thing any of us can do about it. I wish these talking heads would calm the #^&#^&#^&#^& down. It's winter. It's New England. Sometimes it snows. Sometimes we get a little. Sometimes we get a #^&#^&#^&#^& load. This is news?
Here's another late breaking item. It's gonna melt. Maybe next week, maybe next month. But it's gonna melt. This isn't the herald of a new ice age, for cryinoutloud. |
Shop early - the milk and bread will be sold out at the grocery store.

I stocked up on this last storm so I won't have to keep running to the store....

The reason it is so slow in here today is that everyone is out stocking up on milk and bread.

Hype it up, line up the advertiser's, the local supermarket chain, home goods stores selling shovels, snowblowers, etc. and keep everyone hanging with "has the potential", we are watching the "weather models" and keep checking our forecast throughout the next couple of days!!
And as far as the weather models, here is a real weather model, both hot and cold :) |
