SWE Knot Testing and Competition - this Thursday

Test your knots on the line/knot testing machine or go head to head with others. Fun and education for all!

Seriously. 12 turn uni-knot in braid was eye opening last year. Looking forward to experimenting with high-turn uni's again. Needs a bit more testing but it made Palomar, Improved Clinch, and other standards used for 50# braid look poor in comparison and it's easy to tie in the surf.

This Thursday starting at 6pm.

Pete, the uni-knot begin with a double pass thru the eye with the braid.

Not sure, Scott was the one who tied it. It was one of the last knots put on the machine that evening so maybe it was a fluke but after an evening of watching the Palomar, Clinch, Improved Clinch, etc, pop in the 30's when using 50# braid, seeing an easy to tie knot pop in the 50's was interesting.

More elaborate knots like Biminis, PR's, etc can do that but we've never seen something you could tie easily in the surf break that high in 50# braid.
