Happy St. Patrick's Day. Leaving for the Gaelic American club in about 20 min. for cornbeef and Guiness!

Mmmmmm corner beef (one of the best ones I have ever made by the way) and cabbage....check! Watched the Holyoke parade on the tube...check! Only thing is washed it down with chianti instead of beer. Must be changing my ways as I get older! HAHA

Not sure what it is about corned beef n cabbage, but I produced enough natural gas today to heat my house for a year!

Cooked a nice cut of corned beef in Guinness:drool:

I had a couple Smithwick's and some Jameson's on a mini pub crawl in Quincy, then picked up some Chinese food on the way home.

Well I married the oldest of nine.Yes she's Irish.
Not only is the fridge half full of salt meat but between the daughters invitations and Sweeties cooking I'll be able to swim on top of the water this summer from all the salt.
PS I'm loving it though

Spent the weekend ice fishing in NH, came home to a heaping bowl (not a plate) of "boiled dinner heaven" and a pint of Guiness.

The only way it could have been better would be if.....Oh, wait, it COULDN'T be any better!!!!:gu:

If corned beef and cabbage is so good, how come most people only eat it once a year?

Cause it's a four hour ordeal.

For me it's because I have never made it myself. And it's usually never on the menu at the resturaunts we go to. I should give it a shot one day. It's so good
