That reminds me, there's another commercial out there for hair loss or boner pills that has some dudes with fly reels on spinning rods. I can't help but chuckle. Googans....

Or the Viagra ad on the sailboat that has the jib fully backwinded because they are motoring.....

There was a comercial a few years back in Salt water sportsman with for a clothing line... the striking neat polo shirt and kaki shorts clad Gent was holding a large roosterfish while balancing a fresh water rod... sans line or hook... and the reel still had nylon (tie wraps) straps on it as an antitheft devise...the following months mag posted an "oops" because of all the back lash it created..

That other commercial is for Symbicort. I thought something looked out of place, but it took a couple times seeing it to find what wasn't right. I certainly wouldn't profess to know every way there is to fish, but the rods look like spinning rods (the guides and butt section give it away) and the reels seem pretty huge for a small stream. At one point the grandfather has just oddly casted in one direction while the son is holding his rod in a strange position about to cast over his father's line. Can't tell if there are files or bait beneath the big red and white bobbers they have tied on. My younger daughter, obviously a stickler for this stuff watched the State Farm fishing ad and then when this one came on again, pointed out that grandpa is wearing a vest more suited to a safari than fly fishing.

marketing companies spend millions on analyzing their base and tieing their commericals to the company name. Im sure that these things are intentional and part of the strategy. They know which type of people will notice these things and remember the companies name. As such, it appears many of you have erectile issues and are in need of insurance.

That's quotable right there.

Saw the ad from my original post again.... Either that reel is a lefty conventional, or it is on the rod upside down as well...

Fiske27 04-08-2013 08:00 PM

FishermanTim 04-09-2013 09:55 AM
