keep it out of the sunlight, not UV resistant. Very pricey $$!

Backing plates are overrated fender washers work just as well if not fit better for most installs

IMHO the best is simple CCA treated wood. 5/4 by whatever you need. Cheap and sturdy. I don't know that I'd trust anything 5mm thick.

I've gotta make a bracket for my hydraulic steering ram, might be nice to put some kevlar in the sglass for the impact resistance.
