CNC woodcarvers Anybody got one? Do you use a picture and software or do you have a pattern or original to follow? I'm still preparing my battle plan to make the chess pieces and the knights are a problem if you want to make them really nice looking horses. The rest of the pieces are simply turned on the lathe and I think pretty easy. I suppose you could embelish them with some carving too but that damned horse cannot be turned except for the base. i have been thinking dremel but the CNC carvers , especially the small enclosed ones that sometimes sell for $900 or so are tempting. |

I machined a ton of graphite for making the reentry ceramics. WHAT A MESS! I swear I still get black on my heands when I grab certain tools!. I guess nobody has one? They had a demo of one at Rockler or Woodcraft a couple of months ago but I missed it do to schedule conflicts.. I'll have to keep my eyes open for another demo somewhere. |

The key to carving graphite is a very powerful collector to suck up all that dust. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

They look really cool... great for making all kinds of cool stuff... The question I have is ... how easy is the software to use.... |
