One grip, total time with getting the pattern sized right (after finally finding a suitable one), cutting the pieces, gluing, cutting the foam , sanding - about 5-8 hours depending on detail. THE Bart Simpson I did took eme 10 hours & then only 5 hours. THis one took me about 7 or 8 hours.
I don't know exactly, I do all the cutting and glueing at my "real" job when I get a chance, so I could care less if it took me 30 hours - lol. I'm still getting paid regardless.
Most frustrating part is gluing everything together, you apply contact cement (which gives you a contact high) to each side of hte piece you are going to glue together, wait about 10 minutes for it to dry, then push it together. Hopefully, teh piece you are gluing goes together perfectly, unlike the little black knob in the bottom lateral line of the Bass (near his a$$). THe skinny black foam doubled over on itself when I was pressing it to teh white piece. Once the glue on one surface touches glue from another surface - it's STUCK. Period, no way to get it apart.
