Outdoor Shower
 

pretty much done this past week and I took a few. Nutin better. Got some trim to finish up still though, ran out of stock. White cedar skin to match the cottage and PT frame. The shower side is some plastic stuff I found at work a few years ago thinking I would use it for this.

Wow that's nice ... I built one today too ... Board and batten .. Pinned it so I could take it inside in the winter with the lawn furniture ... Mine looks like crap compared to that ..Your house looks nice too ..

I like the foundation too .... Wow !! gutters ..

Paul you do awesome work but then again...I am not surprised! Its a beauty! Where did you get the cedar from?

Paul .. Is this the house or the cottage ? Looks like the plumber almost lit the house on fire .

Osterville Cottage Eddie. LOL, Yeah my torch was a crappy one and works good with copper but the brass requires more heat so I had to heat for an extended time and even with an alum sheet in between, thus the well done shingle . It will fade away eventually or I'll replace. No comment on the custom brass clamps and anchors:). The whole unit will come right off for winter storage.
Larry I got all the cedar at Atlantic fence supply in Raynham, route 44. Tons of stock. Not cheap though. That is why I used PT for the frame and base, base covered in cedar, as the big stuff is outrageous. I priced 8' length of fence and this was pretty much same price but this allowed me to create what I wanted. Use carriage bolts for frame and all stainless screws, which are not cheap either. Trim still to go for finishing touch. It is truly awesome to shower outdoors.

It is actually against the the law on cape to have an outdoor shower but they don't enforce it as pretty much everyone had or has one. They worry about ground water contamination, which I really don't understand. Just grey water. they want it put into septic but no one does.

Paul, Looks really good. The cedar is nice because not only looks good/reduce rot but bugs don't like gnawing on it. Last time I saw you we were talking about the drainage, you've done a lot. I see you are using an standard interior tub mixing valve. My buddies idea, but he used the tub/shower switch to go to a faucet underneath that he can attach a hose to. He loves the warm water aspect of it when he needs to rinse something and keeps a couple foot length on it to just wash feet/legs. I was actually thinking of doing mine over like that. Just a thought.

Doing things for yourself I always make the extra effort. Looks great...

We have had an outdoor shower for about 5 years here....winter 2 seasons ago destroyed the shower and I am rebuilding right now....looking for cedar source so thanks for that! I love it!

I was trying to blow up the shot of the plumbing to see the quick release. Well thought out. What did you do for drainage under platform?

I paid some guy to power clean the shingles and was very pleasantly surprised how great it turned out. Looks like new. Got to get someone that knows what they are doing though. The outside was in good condition, fairly new roof, siding, and windows. The inside was a complete gut IMO. I'm 1/2 done with living room and bathroom still to go but livable till I get more cash and time. I painted the trim and put on gutters last year. The real jewel was the location and I knew I could do pretty much all the work needed so I knew what I was getting into. Lots of time and work though as you know all too well.

place is great Larry. Tons of materials. I used 6' long 1x6 tongue and groove for exterior and 6' 1x5 planks for floor and trim and such. You can get 2x4's and 4x4 posts if you got the cash.

Benches already in, some trim still needed. I will be making some stainless hardware, hooks and shelving sometime this summer as I find the time at work.

Nice job for a metalman....do yourself a huge favor now to avoid a an o-my god later on...and soak the piss out of those shingles two to three feet up the wall at the base of the plumbing with sealer to keep it from rotting out the house....it will in time,if you don't...had to repair enough walls an framing behind those this year to last a life time.

Nice work paul! you weren't kidding, that thing is state of the art! My outdoor shower saved my life after doing a death march of a loop yesterday, 84 degrees at 830am yuck

cuprinal no.9...u may or may not like the color...it's green,,,,but it sure keeps the bugs and rot at bay.

Great work Paul!! I have two black rubber mats that look like the plastic mat you have on the floor. I use to use on my boat, its in great shape and about 1" thick, all yours if you want it?? Let me know.
