Stupid, crazy idea....or not?
Alright, so I have a question that might seem odd, nay....even insane or creepy. I was cleaning the bathroom the other day and noticed how much of my wife's hair was on the floor after she brushes(she has very long, thick black hair) which was a lot, and thought to myself...."hmmm, I wonder if anyone has ever tried to tie a buck tail or tail hook using human hair? Is this just totally creepy and gross, or could it work? P.S. I swear no human's were harmed or are in danger of being harmed in this thought process....just curious. lol:confused:

It's been done.

did it work? Was it effective....cause I might not ever need to buy bucktails again, maybe I'll just make my wife change hair color ever few months! lol

You would need so many you'd probably have to cut some off To get enough. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Knit yourself a scarf :)

I wouldn't think it would be stiff enough.

Sift through the pile and use the pubes to make a wolly bugger dry fly. :hihi:

Cat hair makes great paint brushes

LOL Works good just hard to get good stuff. Find a hair dresser and tell her the colors you want. Black make nice eel flies and tail hooks.

Deer hair is hollow so it dries easily. And keeps its shape pretty well. Human hair is solid so it will stay wet and not hold shape great.

You better not try using pubes. Fish will just spit it out. :rotfl:

I used to use hair from my dogs tail (malamute husky) worked great, white with a black tip.

There used to be a Barmaid in upstate NY that made Steelhead flies with her short hairs.

all of my dogs have contributed to my fly tying bench :). my current lab has the best black dubbing fur I've ever used.
|
Little creepy but if anyone wants human hair, I can get more hair than you can shake a stick at from wife"s Barber Shop. Few people use it around gardens to keep deer away out here.
