The drive has been active right off the point. First light and in the late afternoon. We fished nearby there and saw some birds and fish under them last night. Some small blues with some bass in the mix from what most have reported. Go get em.
SWE CREW!

I pulled out of BP Park @ 9:30 last night. There were birds working the entire reef...I seen some guys scattered on the rox...and two on the jeddy - - didn't see anything landed, although I'm sure they were into something with all that commotion - - -- --- --

Strange thing is, there were some pluggers on the point. They were just staring out at the birds working the water. They knew they couldn't reach the birds so they didn't bother casting. :laughs: ...people tend to forget, you're not trying to catch birds...gamefish can and will be scattered throughout the entire area. The birds are concentrated over the larger school of bait-fish, but dont' think they don't scatter into smaller, more vulnerable targets for the bigguns' to corner...When a school of baitfish gets attacked, (blitz-wise)...they will scatter a bit and try to regroup. They don't ALL make it back to the main group. Small pods will form and these pods will be less noticeable to the angler or the bird. When you see action of any sort, whether it be out of distance or not,...don't waste time watching...that monster of a life-time could be right at your door wondering why you haven't made her an offer.

Happy Fishing :D

if you dont mind me asking, how did you get the lobster?

KLMulder 06-17-2003 12:26 PM

Drop a squid in low water where there are lots of rocks and the buggers think you are ringing a dinner bell. wait a few mins and they tangle in your line. I would do this as a kid all the time and had a brain fart last night and gave it a try.:D

izzy 06-17-2003 02:39 PM

cool,how big were they?

KLMulder 06-17-2003 04:55 PM

about 1# and 1 1/2#

hunter-gather 06-17-2003 05:34 PM

I would venture to say a 1# lobster is deffinitly illegal.

As a commercial lobster fisherman I don't mind when people take lobsters without a license, but at least make sure they are legal.

> As a commercial lobster fisherman I don't mind when people take lobsters without a license

Let me rephrase that. I don't mind people taking a lobster or two, in that fashion.
