Hi folks

I fell against the bow rail the other day while tugging on a blue fish and managed to break the rail loose from the gunnel....

My question is,,,, anyone ever dealt with this and can give any fix m up advice?

Find a bolt that fits correctly and drill a deck hatch so you can access it underneath.

I guess but I don't go there!

Need access somehow to the bottom to either put whole new nut/bolt or at least nut?

Need access to the bottom, can't tell you how to do it without knowing what is looks like under the rail. Worse comes to worse, they do make stainless toggle bolts.

Yes Mike & Mike! I was hoping someone had a magic bullet,,, cuting holes in boats never feels right. :smash:

I had "almost" the same kind of connection break on my boat.
I didn't have the flange on the end it was just right flush with the gunnel and bolted from underneath.

I could not get to the bolt and I found rail brackets online with the exact angle I needed. Three screws fasten it to the boat and set screws hold the rail. It is stronger than original.
But for yours you would have to cut/grind off that flange.

Something like these they come in different angles. I actually did the side that was still intact so they would match and the added strength. People are always yanking on bow rails.

Thanks Van, good option to think about

RRon,,, I hear you, thinking about resale value,,, already covered up two holes some num nuts put in for speakers near the stern to help sink her with a wave over transom...... Not to mention where they flush mounted the radio/DVD dumb chits... :smash:
