snapper blues for bait ?
 
the haabah is loaded with small snappers and not much else . has anyone had luck using them for bait .

They are great for fluke.
Hard to keep alive very long once hooked.
Bass love them but I've not livelined them for bass. You'd need a very light hook.
I spent two hours yesterday fishing a small blitz where bass (tiny-10lbs) had snappers pinned against rocks. It was automatic hookup with a small pencil thrown tight to the shore.

I tried it once. They seem to swim too fast.

I put them on a bridel and under a( small) balloon...they make a good bait when the area is infested with them...

I've used the smaller ones (usually dead) on a Spro jig for fluke with some success. Live would be better.

A guy from Woonsocket (I think his name is Bob Giguire (sp)) who used to bucktail the Jamestown Bridge in its hay day has always told my father he used live snapper blues in other situations and did very well with them. There were articles written about this guy if anyone knows who I'm talking about...

Watcched a small school of bass last year iver the vineyard gorge themselves on snappers. It was an awesome turn of events.
