On The Water beating the show to death

How many times can the tuna fishing show be repeated? C'mon, you guys.must have some new stuff.in the can

What, you mean you haven't memorized every detail of those episodes yet? Come on, they need to promote travel sites to fishing destinations to pay for all that wonder information they get to relay to only those who have boats and can afford it!

I will check out the episode to see where they are fishing, what they are fishing for and if they are fishing from shore or boat.

Then I change the channel!

They seem like they are more interested in traveling to (exotic) fishing destinations than passing along fishing knowledge to the veiwers.

Doesn't Charlie Moore do something like that???

I don't know I think the season was pretty good, I agree the offshore stuff is somewhat elitist, but there are enough guys that want to see it so that's why they show it.
The shows about spring on the cape, tube and worming in woods hole and the block island spring show were all very good if you ask me. Would like to see more surf stuff but I know they have really struggled with this in the past, either with not catching enough fish to make a good show or spot burning...

They could feature some general areas like the canal....thats not exactly a hidden gem! Or do some fishing from undisclosed beach locations (general area) and show how-to and such? Maybe a show on local plug builders and their work, how they fish them etc.?? How about a couple shows on the golden days of striper fishing? Some of the surf luminaries who fished the storied locations like the Cape's Backside, Race Point, the Canal, Montauk???? Maybe feature some vintage plugs and their history and the builders?? How about the heritage of beach buggies and the beaches we have been driving on for decades????:uhuh:

Oh...and more kayak fishing??

I think they did a show last season up on cranes beach and that was kinda cool as there was some how-to on reading the water and very tough to figure out exactly where they were as the beach is huge and it all looks basically the same.

Some great ideas there Larry, call Chris Megan! I agree on the kayak fishing.. would be cool to see some episodes of that.

They need to have you on their staff!
These are great ideas that would entertain and enlighten both rookie and veteran anglers alike! :uhuh:

Just something different??? Outside the box! Maybe OTW will hire me? I am available?:uhuh:

They should reserve one commercial spot on littering awareness and fish size limits.

dual hook ups via kayak to tuna

then we can watch the race.....

yeah......that' s the ticket :uhuh:

Just how manyy times in a short span are we going to watch the P.E.I. tuna fishing? Once, twice, o.k., put it away for a few months, and show something else. No one is going to know when they do pop a new one out of the can, because we are all going to be searching for the channel with Charlie Moore reruns.

Do they have calendars at OTW?

Would it be too much trouble to put on episodes that are season-specific? You know, have a show about the fall run on during the fall, or ice fishing during the winter?

I've seen too many shows that were probably shown as "fillers" due to poor scheduling, but fewer time-relative episodes that would be useful and entertaining.

Sorry, but showing ice fishing in March or April is a waste, just as showing summer fishing for bass off Block Island in Feb is a waste.

I watch the show less and less, year after year and have no plans to buy their advertising magazine anytime soon.

That Kayak better have a federal tuna permit………

Rockport24 09-12-2013 02:16 PM

Yeah the dude that does it on the cape had to register his kayak with the DMV in order to get the fed tuna permit.
