Tiger Woods gets caught cheating again
Woods ball clearly moves when he is moving debris around it while laying on some leaves. He does't assess himself a stroke until tour officials make him watch replay three times. After saying he saw nothing the first two times, he is made to watch it a third time, when finally says, "fine", and walks off, forcing a two-stroke penalty on him.Coments made afterward about the sitiation were very negative.

He says he thinks it only oscillates! Clearly moves in the am video.

That? He clearly saw that moving the stick was impacting the ball so he stopped and neither the ball or stick changed position.
What a silly game. -spence |

didn't see the video.......
but having worked @ golf courses if there is any debris around someone hadn't done their job especially when there's a tourney happening |

Many great players have penalized themselves for even the slightest unintentional infractions. The penalties they assessed themselves cost them huge in dollars and where they placed in tournaments. It was always considered absolutely necessary to be honest in the game of golf. Its a game of integrity played to the highest levels of sportsmanship.
There is no cloudy rule or maybe/ ifs here. He cheated , just like he did before. For a second infraction like this , IMO, he should get a 6 month or years suspension from tournament play. |
cheat on a wife = cheat on the golf course in their minds

Everyone on the pga tour owes their career to tiger woods. literally single handedly saved golf from extinction and made it into the popular world sport it is today. I'd let him lift clean place every shot he had just to see what he could do with it. hes human everyone relax

Didn't see the tape but I think it is crazy that they allow someone to submit video or call in and then penalize a player after the fact.

I guess the use of my "Foot Wedge" wouldn't fly then

It was Arnold Palmer who took golf from a fringe sport, into the mainstream. And made million dollar purses possible. Frank Beard, an old-time pro, was once quoted as saying "Every time I cash a check, I want to thank Arnie for 50 cents on the dollar". The smart thing for Tiger to have done here, if there was any doubt about his lie, was to call a marshal over for a ruling, before he moved the obstruction. That's why they're out there on the course in the first place. The marshal tells you you can clear it, and the ball moves when you do it, he or she will tell you to return it to the original lie. |

That is a statement full of doo doo. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
A statement echoed by almost every tour player Swimmer.

As far as Tiger holding up the tour all by himself, ask Arnie, ask Jack, who my father at one time was on a first name basis. Ask the people who emulate an amatuer called Ouimet, or Bobby Jones, who quit playing one day as an amatuer to take on something more important. There are twenty different players on the tour that are beating Tiger every week out there, every week. No doubt he has made his mark, but at his current rate of winning he may not overtake Nicklaus major win record. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
You could say the same thing about Lance Armstrong, he pretty much rebuilt the sport in the 2000's.
I think I misread the rule initially. Perhaps it was the site I was looking at. -spence |

But I gotta say tiger gave golf a kick in the ass Arnie and Jack both brought it up big time. But the Tiger Era has made it huge!! Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Is it a rules violation? Yes, but I would not put it in the category of cheating. DeVicenzo didn't cheat when he signed the improper score card. Stadler didn't cheat with the towel. Vijay Singh is a known cheat while others have put Gary Player and even Seve in that category. Nothing comes close to David Robertson. Bobby Jones once penalized himself a stroke which cost him the open, nobody else saw the ball move. Fat Phil, Michelle Wie and Lee Janzen also make the cheat list.

The fact we're talking about Tiger Woods on a fishing forum proves my point LOL! How many golfers get talked about on fishing forums, thats right, none, besides tiger. I didnt hear jack about Furyk's 59 this past week, just tiger gettin penalized! He's made the sport mainstream, period. Jack and Arnie are the legends no doubt, but noone gave 2 #^&#^&#^&#^&s about golf until tiger came into the picture, and made golf into a huge, sellable, popular product. Thats my point, as far as the rules infraction, obviously he was wrong and got penalized, bfd. And I made my above comment when I was hammered fyi

Photog was a subcontractor to the network. An extra eye on the course, not just someone paparazzi following Woods around. The last time he did something a viewer called the honchos at NBC and informed them of the rule violation, and they in turn inform the rules official at whatever tournament it was and he got called on it. Golf is one of the last vestiges on earth where honesty still counts. |

My understanding is it was 1 stroke for failing to replace the ball and 1 stroke for signing an incorrect scorecard
:nopics: No matter he was going home to this: :rotf2: |
