back river stripers

I finally got a decent fish in the back waters tonight. I have been trying for 10 to 20 minutes at a time on my way home from work at night with nothing to show for my efforts. After a couple of couple dinks and a rat blue on soft plastics I switched over to a lazy man's riggie. jammed a 1/2 oz jig head through an eel and tuned the hook up out the top with the mouth not even held shut. I dragged it through the current to see the action and thought.. piece of chit, rotten, crooked eel aint gonna get nothing. First cast was a surprisingly good bump. I almost soiled myself. Second cast across an old rr tressle and got a 33" striper with a pot belly full of mantis shrimp and what looked like semi digested mullet to come to home for dinner.

Nice Story

Back waters should be heating up w/the falling water temps. Love standing on sod banks. Eels have been my go to choice for the last month. Dead or alive, they are a killer!
