Boats
They consume me. They really do.
I found some sweet machines. Going to inspect them in the coming weeks. |
Boats consume lots of things.

A plague on mankind! :)

Your boat would look good on my slip.
|
there are MANY choices......... but still too friggin' expensive. I love them too.
but they still suck |
yes, they are so American....they are very expensive, consume large quantities of fossil fuels, make a lot of noise, considered pointless by many, require constant maintenance, take up a lot of time (and $)that could be otherwise spent on more traditional causes, there is always multiple things that need to be fixed or replaced, I have spent many hours searching for the next one when I have a perfectly good one at the dock ready to go...honestly I have spent way more time looking and thinking about boats then searching for a wife. (I don't think I ever really looked for a wife come to think about it) but.... I don't care, I will only be alive and able to do this for a limited amount of time and I am going to do this as long as I can so I don't care what anyone thinks. ( I just spent the last 2.5 hours on the phone talking with a guy about a boat...my wife came in and said...do you know how long you were on the phone?...my answer was..."no".)
I had a guest on board this summer who drove up to my house in brand new hybrid vehicle. Later the next day when we were on the boat she asked " what is the mileage of this boat" I knew what it was but just said...well, with boats we don't talk in terms of mileage, it is in terms of gallons per hour. Her reaction resembled that of a dog who heard a strange high pitched sound. |

My wife wants to move to the north shore. I said fine but I'll need a bigger boat. Always compromise. BTW she said on.

Yes, they do consume you. example.....do a little trim painting on the house or go down the boat and install a couple new running lights......boat wins.
They don't consume you as much as kids though. I just dream of the boat I'd be fishing in if I stayed single and didn't have rug rats.....holy crap. |

Gentlemen, My plan was to bring her home this winter and pretty her up in the spring for a sale. I am ready to move on. I started to put together some photos, some text and I am trying to put put together a virtual sea trial video this week but I have not started it yet. So far I have a few pages of text telling the story of the boat and a bunch of unorganized photos to show the different features. I will put them up today on my photobucket page, when I get it up I will put a link here. (I will edit this post) If you are really interested after seeing the text and photos, it will be in the water for 2 more weeks (about) so if you want an early test drive let me know.I do not plan to advertise it beyond this until the spring but if anyone from SB is honestly interested. I will be happy to show her to you and be as honest as I can with you about every system. I know this boat inside and out and will tell you everything (the good and the not-so-good)you will know exactly what you are getting into. I would love to see the boat stay in NE and cross paths from time to time, IMO it is probably one of the best designs for this region. I am looking at a couple boats now...one a 36 and the other 38 sportfish express and I can't keep both. I will miss the fuel economy of the mirage but I want more boat. Hey... this is very preliminary I am in the process getting the boat ready for winter so a lot of the stuff is coming off and being stowed but if you want to see what I have so far, here it is: http://s671.photobucket.com/user/js_...2%20Pilothouse |

are you off your meds jeff. and jim - that guy banging on your door with the erection and a bag of cash is Dangles.

I understand the OCD about boats all too well. my boat is a cheap POS and nowhere near what yer driving around in- and I, too, love to look around constantly and see whats out there- its like some hot chick with a personality disorder..... you know she's a PITA but its all good when you finally get out on her
but they're still expensive and they still suck |
Looks great Jim! Will you take payment in the form of plugs??:uhuh:

That is one beautiful machine Jim. I can't imagine getting something better than that. Good luck.

FYI (if anyone cares) Put up a few one hand phone videos I took today on the way in, kind of shaky but I wanted to document the speed rpm. No speed demon but it runs well. Load was a little light, Just me on board and about 75 gal of fuel (I went to Falmouth but everyone was closed!!! WTF! , Having the truck come to my house and top me off after it is hauled)
http://s671.photobucket.com/user/js_...?sort=6&page=4 Due to schedule issues the boat gets hauled on Tuesday, |
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:31 AM. |
