Done......

Well by this time of the year hauling out surf gear, bikes, kayak gear, and going out fishing at all hours of the night and day for hours at a time and then having to wash all that gear and put it away time and time again over, and over, and over has me worn down..........I am ready to end my season! I have not had many productive outings of late! Fall has been more of a bust for me! I know there are fish around still but when there is frost on the truck every morning I am less inclined to go! I hit the ditch yesterday am and froze my azz off for 1 dink! Today I will make 1 last trip to a favorite spot and hope to end on a good note for this season! It was a good one for me....no complaints! I am ready to pack away the rods and gear, get some stuff knocked off my to-do list here at home before the snow flies and hunker down for winter in my shop! Until Spring comes again.......:uhuh:

I shifted back over to freshwater kayak fishing.
I find that the fish are as active if not more active than during the warmer months.
I fished a local river this weekend and was happy with the dozen or so fish that were caught.
They weren't all monsters, but when taken in the context of what I was going after, they all were "monsters"!!!

I got hand sized sunfish, white perch, jumbo yellow perch, decent sized bass and large pikerel. I lost the first fish when it threw the hook. It was big, O mean rod bending big, and I couldn't pull it to the surface to even see what kind of fish, but after it got free, I knew that there were more like that on this river.

Oh, and I was using a 1" white Mr. Twister on a 1/16 oz jig.
Talk about putting the ball in THEIR court!!!

I lost a rubber frog lure last week to a pike/pickerel (didn't see the fish) that inhaled the frod and bit through the braid in a heartbeat.

Sure, the striper fishing may have been horrible this year, but the freshwater fishing has been phenominal!!!
