Paper Charts

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, office of nautical charts, announced last week it is moving out of the chart printing business. Next April the Maryland government facility that prints them will close.

Stock up now, while you can!

Nuts!! As a former quartermaster in the USN, That is sad news. I'm glad I had a chance to take the notice to mariners and correct the effected charts.

Why would you stock up?
Bluewater Books prints them themselves.

Infact NV paper charts are better than NOAA's.

Yeah, it's just the NOAA prints that are stopping... The same NOAA charts (& updated versions in upcoming years) are still available through any nautical printer. Just have to be requested.
