i have a lathe scoped out
care to give me a couple of hints: what in particular i should be looking for ......or to avoid. I think, i'm gonna be getting a SWEET deal.
|
what brand? name brands are always a good idea if ya ever want to upgrade or get new parts.
just make sure it spins. |
i have first crack at it...thru some friends.
its coming with lots of extras (IE: tools)....so at the moment i don't have any info other than its for sale ->soon....and i should hopefully get to see it this weekend. they have two lathes so one has to go. and i believe it will ->GO home with me :D

A cast base and frame is best, but if all you are going to turn is plugs, a formed/tubular base lathe works just fine, IMHO.
Jigman has the latter. I have turned plugs on it and it does a great job. Grizzly sells both, starting at about $140.00. Bernzy |
cast iron delta
looks like a( 700 brand new) DeLTA with a set of buck turning tools for 50.00
so the whole rig will cost me 2 bills... i think its a good buy. |
Sound like a great deal :btu:
Keep yer tools sharp ;) Bernzy |
thats a given
i sharpen everything -> shovels , hoes , anything with an edge.
i wont even cut the lawn unless i sharpen the blade. What i will need is some links (sources) for finding the hardware to go with the plugs...eyes , wire, ect. Much has changed since i did it as a teenager... i have a compressor already..whats the best or good brand for air brush kit. Thanks in Advance.... ;) Rav |
#^^^^^^^^^^^&'s site has all that stuff

make some 2oz poppers!
i lost 2 of mine so far this season :( |
nah some small schoolie poppers in herring. i had a close encounter with a 30+ pound striper on one today. came to just take a look. i need a big fish like to just hit the freekin thing. then again it probally would have spooled my schoolie rod.
