Couple of ID's?
3 Attachment(s)
Here are a couple I have always wondered about. I know I have seen the pencil somewhere, but I forget. The popper looks like a Gibbs, but has the colors of a Capt'n Bills. The popper hook holes don't line up and cut of the mouth is bigger compared to the gibbs. Also the popper looks like it was going to have screw eyes, Cap't Bills are thru wired. Thanks

Jim, is it possible the popper is a prototype, but not put in to production, due to design similarities with gibbs?, according to this pic it might be so.

I remember reading a few years ago that Gibbs got the idea for that slant faced popper from a fisherman who made his own plugs way back when. I am pretty sure it can be traced back to him, I think his daughter was mentioned also. I forget the name but I think he was from some town up around Fitchburg or something.
They do look like Gibbs |
Does anyone remember Hab's making a slant nose popper just like these? I have several and they are supposedly very early Hab's poppers. One of them I can almost make out his name on the top where it looks like he used letter impression stamps.
