Rubbing it out on the boat

Like a moron, I decided to try bringing back my gelcoat on the inside of the hull.

The good news is it is coming back and looks AWESOME.

The bad news, DAMN it's an @$$ ton of work, even with a radial polisher! It really is coming along nicely though...

That title made me read this thread.

That was a close one !:smash::smash:

You got to give it a good coat of wax/protectant or whatever so you're
had work lasts longer.

OK, so at the risk of hurting my shoulder from patting myself on the back... Did the outside of the hull over the weekend. I really need to post pics, I can't believe how good the 13 year old hull looks.

What are you using after compounding? You might want to take a look at Rejex. My own experience with it is that it was easier to apply and lasted more than a year. Each of the past four years it has almost looked good enough to launch without reapplying on the hull. Used by airplane and show car detailers.

I know rejex gets good reviews. Last year I used crappy cheap Nu Finish. I gotta say, it didn't suck. I might go with it again. I like the fact that NF has silicone in it, which rejex does not. definitely NOT what you want on a painted surface like a car that might need body work, but maybe desirable on gelcoat? still thinking about it.
