Race Pt/Wood End Underwater!

I dragged my GoPro dredge cam around Wood End yesterday and captured some great footage of the underwater scene:

Make sure to click on 1080P resolution and view full screen.
Was much better at filming than catching, fish had lockjaw.

what sized hooks work best on a Go Pro?

nightfighter 06-17-2014 06:54 AM

Nice footage, Buzz. Now you need to rig a swivel on the dredge and drag a lure so you can film the strike. The fish were interested in the GoPro during the early footage.

wdmso 06-17-2014 07:15 AM

what was the depth ?

bart 06-17-2014 07:47 AM

very cool!

beamie 06-17-2014 07:50 AM

Very cool Buzz thanks.

piemma 06-17-2014 07:59 AM

I could be wrong but a couple of the fish looked decent size.

PRBuzz 06-17-2014 08:42 AM

Most of this filmed 20-35ft deep water right on the end of drop.

spinncognito 06-17-2014 10:12 AM

That was really cool. Such clarity too. Surprised those bass did not eat the lobsters.

dannyplug1 06-17-2014 10:19 AM

size and were they eating

It looks like they were eating what ever kicked up what do you think they were munching on and what size were the fish they looked to be about the same size just curious about anyone's guess on size

iamskippy 06-17-2014 11:41 AM

It was loaded with sand eels from 1" to 6" long. The screen was red from te bottom up to about 5'.

A few boats managed small fish, they had hogey tube n worms on and a few on the diamond jig. The boats were as thick as the bait and bass.

Radio chatter was the charter guys complaining about lock jaw with one cptn stating he got one on wire that was 36".

pretty awesome footage there, looked like a LOT of fish in the first part of the video.

PRBuzz 06-17-2014 01:48 PM

Time clips are edited, coloration is not

Guppy 06-17-2014 03:26 PM

I know those fish! They where at Billingsgate on Saturday' nights tide, they don't eat! :smash:
Great vid Buzz

blondterror 06-17-2014 05:24 PM

use the Cape Cod sand eel plastics made with SE oil and their weighted single hook head... jig it... works great esp when fished stealth mode from a yak

Ryan560 06-17-2014 07:20 PM

Sweet. That was nice.

Slipknot 06-18-2014 07:47 AM

So that's where all those fish are from the one good year class, what was it 2006? I hope there are still enough of them to save the species.
Pretty cool to see a school of fish like that.

PRBuzz 06-18-2014 10:03 AM

For those of you that have even more time on your hands, here is another rendition that runs 11m 18s with even MORE BASS !

Those fish were tough to get to bite. We were vertical jigging little teeny Who's Your Daddy jigs.

They had lockjaw all week. You need to seek other areas....head to the north, look for fish stacked up on the dropoff, kill the engine, then wait...

bobber 06-19-2014 01:26 PM

we've had lotsa fish down here with lockjaw too. I spooked hunderds of fish in shallow water that I couldn't get to eat anything (even live eels). spoke to a guy who had the same thing the other day, but then had 7 fish in 10 casts in the space of 20 minutes....... thne they shut off again. CRAZY!!?!
