I like the crazy Alberto knot kinda tough to tie in the dark though

I use the Improved Albright knot and have landed Bass up to 45# with no problem. 50# PP slick to 50# Jika mono

this knot is fantastic if you tie it correctly, get it cinched right, you can wind it through your guides, wouldn't want to have to tie it on the water or at night or in the surf, I like the uni-uni as the best braid to mono connection, the more wraps you can get on your braid tag the stronger it will be

I'm forced to keep using a swivel, cause I suck at knots!! Its like I have three fingers on each hand.

Give this knot a try, it small enough to cast threw eyelets on a rod, and it eliminates a knot that can fail.

I'm going to practice it a bunch of times skippy, and try and get it down. I really hate using, and tying swivels in the dark. It looks like one of the easier knots to tie that I've seen. Thanks for sharing!

Uni to Uni has always worked fine for me.

Swimmer 08-23-2014 06:47 PM

Lot shorter videos than this one to learn the knot

If tying braid to leader, the purpose is avoiding a swivel. Otherwise you would not be learning these knots.?

When I hook up braid 2 braid I use uni 2 uni but braid 2 mono/flouro I'll use a blood knot and use ChapStick in stead of spit to keep the friction down.

That's a cool knot. I have been using the alberto for a few years now but not a fan of tying it in the dark. I only use a knot like that when chunking with a top shot. I will fool around with that one, it looks real easy to tie.

ProfessorM 08-24-2014 01:34 PM

Uni to uni braid to leader but double the braid. NS recommendation, stronger knot.

Perhaps I do things differently
Yes, (*use-awhateva*) knot for connecting different denier types especially with long leaders that may pass through guides, however (I) will incorporate a swivel pre-snap/BA-clip at the lure to assist in avoiding line twist. Been told over-kill and not needed, but I do what I do with imbecilic confidence
