slow today on the beach.

last two weekends have been on fire from the beach (westerly).

today was a beautiful day. light breeze from the southwest. water temps were in the mid-50's.

but ... no birds working.

fished the incoming and outgoing.

nada.

is it over?

do the fish sense the arctic vortex coming in a few days?

I packed my stuff up a while ago.

afterhours 11-09-2014 07:55 PM

just one chunker on the whole beach when I was there today ...........................no birds/no bait .

Back to the rock & roll tomorow // hoping for my limit on Togs .unless I see the sea bass on the screen .

between them & the squid it was crazy yesterday until they moved & I couldn,t find them schooled again

It died on Tuesday and has not come back since then. Looked and fished like mid winter. Spotted 4 gannets way out mid week and that was it for them. I'm not done yet, tho. Bait disappeared 48 hours after that blow.

Fish feed right before a front so in the next few days it'll explode someplace in SoCo. I have years of logs that prove the approaching front theory. My friend Tom McGuire from Narr and a top notch Striperman told me this 25 years ago.

That's the one consistent thing I have noticed in my logs. Falling pressure = feeding time. The sharper the better.

I agree... but its all contingent upon bait being present to feed upon.

.... and bass being present to feed upon it. ;)

We had all the bait in the ocean at Block last week... but no bass.

Well, of course you need the bass. You can't catch what isn't there.
